Environmental Policy

Carrara Coffee Roasters (CCR), a sister company of Select Catering Solutions (SCS) recognises that a significant proportion of the activities of the Company have some impact on the environment. The Company is therefore a committed and responsible organisation endeavouring to do their utmost to protect the environment and reduce the environmental impact of its operations; and continually improve the environmental performance of its activities through maintenance of an Environmental Management System, in line with the requirements of ISO 14001.



The CCR Environmental Policy is to:

  • Quantify and monitor all environmental impacts and set specific environmental objectives
  • Comply with all relevant environmental legislation, codes of practice and guidance produced by regulatory bodies
  • Integrate environmental objectives into relevant business decisions
  • Regularly measure, audit and review environmental performance to ensure continual improvement
  • Establish and implement best practice environmental performance with standards of excellence, which meet and exceed regulatory requirements and the requirements of ISO 14001
  • Publish and communicate the CCR Environmental Policy to employees, sub-contractors and other interested parties and encourage them to achieve the same high standards
  • Commit to housing products within sustainable packaging, reducing the impact to the environment
  • Get involved in local activities that are beneficial to the environment such as supporting Harborough Woodland
  • Continue to work towards our 2050 end goal of being carbon net-zero as supported by the SME Climate Hub
  • Continue to work, deal, trade, and collaborate with only ethical, and sustainable brokers, suppliers, and third parties
  • Provide leadership and training for its employees and ensure that environmental responsibilities are addressed within Company procedures
  • Prevent pollution and minimise waste and seek to recycle as much as is economically practical; ensure the remainder is disposed of responsibly
  • Develop and promote the use of services and technologies to ensure the ecologically and economically sustainable use of energy and natural resources
  • Follow guidance issued by Government, Environment Agency, Public Health England, and the Health & Safety Executive to protect Staff, Sub-Contractors and members of the public from the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) whilst undertaking our business activities
  • To regularly monitor compliance with our policies and procedures and review our Environmental Policy at least annually
