This lively coffee is brought to you from the North Kivu Region, located near Lake Kivu in the Democratic Republic of Congo, our first ever coffee from Congo. The main harvesting period if from March-June.
This small group of cooperative farmers was the first to achieve Fair Trade certification in Congo, and the coffee also carries organic certification. Members of the cooperative represent several different ethnic groups, with over 20% of farmers being Women.
